Dr. Powell recently had an article accepted for publication in the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, entitled "Revision anterior inferior capsular shift with semitendinosus enhancement." This research was originally presented last July at the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine Meeting in Keystone, CO. The technique, developed by Dr. Powell and Dr. James Tibone from the Kerlan Jobe Orthopedic Clinic and USC, is for the treatment of multiply failed shoulders or shoulders whose capsule has been ablated by thermal shrinkage.
